Received your invitation today, in connection with the Women’s day Convention proposed to be conducted at your Division on 08.03.2012, on the eve of International Women’s day.
All we know that, in the changed scenario of Globalization , Labourers are the victims in the hands of MNCs with no job security and with no time bound - round the clock duties. This is spreading in others areas too viz. public sector undertakings and even in Govt. Departments.
In our Country our women are more socially committed, society bounded and with domestic burdens, have now to face the resultant globalization attacks too.
The women employees, who constitute more than 40% of the staff strength in our Department, are yet to be educated on their rights and to fight collectively for their cause against Social and globalised evils. Simply speaking, they are yet to be unionized fully. The Union subscription is recovered from their pay and they are simply attending the union conferences to vote, without involvement. They must be encouraged to take part in the body, and in other day- to-day activities of the trade union movements.
For which , our Circle Union hopes, this kind of larger conventions would definitely be useful to encourage, enlighten and to involve the women folk into the main stream.
Our Circle Union congratulates the team headed by the Divisional Secretary Com. Selvam for organizing such a convention, and wishing the programme every success in achieving the aim of the convention.
