Respected Madam,
Sub: Drawal of officials to duty on Sundays on regular basis – taken up in RJCM –
Reply received – Follow up action requested – Reg.
Ref: C.O. No. SR/19-89/12/RJCM dt. 13.06.2012   Reply under sl. No. 15/ item no.22.
                                                                                                                ….
With reference to the   subject matter,  it  is replied  as per the reference  that   “Divisional heads  were already instructed to withdraw the counter service facility from those offices in which poor traffic  vide PMG, Chennai City Region  letter No. EST/Misc/2007/CCR  dt. 27.09.2011.”

Even though the  orders were said to be  issued  during the year  2011  itself,  and despite of given reply  dt. 13.06.2012 , the Sunday duty made on  counter  services  were  not  withdrawn  in many  offices  till  date.

It is reported  from  the staff of  Kanchipuram HPO and  from Tiruvallikeni S.O . that  there  is very  poor  traffic  on  booking of speed post  , Registered Post and even  EMOs  in single digit numbers and with an overall  figure  of  5  to  20 transactions  in a day ,  for which  the  office  has to  be opened from 10.00 AM to 05.00 PM  with a strength of 3 to 4 staff. To cite an example the  report  obtained  from Tiruvallikeni S.O.  is  submitted  for your kind  perusal.

Hence your kind and immediate  intervention is  much requested  in this matter  to  cancel  Sunday duties on  counter  services  and   also  on speed  post  delivery,    so as to relieve the  officials  from  mental agony and  pressure.
With regards,
 sd/-
