Sub: Arbitrary issue of orders to close Arunagirichatram S.O.
under Arni HO – Request for cancellation and to
restore the public services – Reg.

The S.O. mentioned under the subject is ordered for closure by the SPOs., Tiruvannamalai w.e.f. 10.9.2011 without any prior notice to the public which is against the spirit of the signed agreement between the JCA and the Department communicated vide dte. No. 08/09/2011-SR dt. 06.07.2011, in which it is specifically mentioned that there would be no closure of Pos .
The S.O. is having 1800 Savings Accounts, 1000 RD accounts , 150 TD accounts and overall KVP/ NSC figures, with a daily average of about 30-40 transaction in Savings Bank sector alone, and during the review of last month statistics , it is observed that about booking of 240 RLs there. The office is computerized only 15 days back and there is every possibility of securing EB Bill collections, since it is an industrial area comprising ware housing corporation, SIPCOT etc , with larger silk producers units.
Moreover, the general opinion of the common public is against the closure of the services there , since most of the public forums are sending memorandums to the PMG/CPMG and to the service unions with thousands of signatories , demanding withdrawal of the closure orders.
The public are prepared to improve the services and assured to the service unions to open larger no. of savings accounts and assuring to credit their EB Bills there.
Hence, our Circle Union is requesting the PMG, CCR to intervene in this matter immediately and to restore the public services there .
