A LETTER ADDRESSED BY A SOCIAL ACTIVIST IN COMMON INTEREST

அன்புத் தோழர்களுக்கு வணக்கம். கீழே காணும் கடிதம் நமது மாநிலச் சங்கத்திற்கு EMAIL   மூலம் அனுப்பப் பட்டுள்ளது.  கடிதத்தை எழுதியவர் ஒரு முன்னாள் முது நிலைக் கண்காணிப்பாளர் மட்டுமல்ல  ஒரு சமூக சிந்தனையாளரும் கூட. அவர்  பணி  நிறைவு பெற்று கிட்டத்தட்ட 14 ஆண்டுகள்  கடந்த பின்னரும் கூட , பாதிக்கப் பட்ட தோழர்களுக்காக நீதிமன்ற வழக்குகளை நடத்துவதில்  இன்றுவரை உதவியாக இருப்பவர். எந்தவித பணப்பயனும் எதிர்பாராமல் , பல வழக்குகளில் வெற்றிகள் பெற்று எண்ணற்ற தோழர்களுக்கு மறுவாழ்வு  அளித்திருப்பவர். அவரது கருத்துக்கள் நம் மாநிலச் சங்கத்தின் மூலம்  நமது அகில இந்திய சங்கம், NFPE  மற்றும் CONFEDERATION தலைமைகளுக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்லப் பட்டுள்ளது.

DEAR SIR,

                         I am a great admirer of Mr. Narendra Modi but I strongly feel that it is not necessary, fair or wise to cancel the holiday on 2^nd October declared and observed in commemoration of the Father of the Nation. Denotifying the holiday will be tantamount to withdrawing the respect associated with declaring the day as a national holiday.  One would have thought many times to cancel the holiday for a religious festival .  

                       For the purpose of taking the “cleanliness pledge” the staff need not be deprived of the holiday. The national and other holidays are utilized by the employees for attending to other essential items of domestic work. The proposed deprivation will be keenly felt in the families where both the spouses are employed. The pledge can be conveniently and comfortably taken on a usual working day. It will meet the ends of satisfaction, if the employees put in their best during the allotted working hours.  The sense of devotion to duty should be encouraged by appeals and not by order and force.  It is not expedient to rub the employees on the wrong side.

               The cleanliness campaign is quite laudable and one wishes that it becomes a great success and is equally  devoid of any even a minor grouse from any source.

                        This is written, more in the interest of Nation and Mr. Modi than in the limited interests of the employees.
